TWO TRAGIC DEATHS
IN THE SAME FAMILY
Once again the news media is looking at the tragic short life of a little boy who died more than 50 years ago while at a children’s home in Watervliet. This time it is the Times Union, in its Oct. 17 issue, that describes the questions surrounding the death of then-8-year-old Gilbert Bonneau at St. Colman’s Home for Boys and Girls in November 1953.
First Gilbert. Then Lisa. That’s two unexplained death in one extended family.
Lisa and Gilbert are related.
Lisa’s mother’s maiden name was Rhea Bonneau. Gilbert’s father is a relative on Rhea’s father side.
Then there are the coincidences between the two cases:
Lisa died at Samaritan Hospital on December 2, 2003 – 50 years and just four days after Gilbert was pronounced dead at what is now Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Gilbert’s mother’s maiden name was Baker – but no relation to the man Lisa married.
Lisa has this page, Answers For Lisa.
Gilbert’s brothers have set up a Web page: Justice For Gilbert. (www.justiceforgilbert.com)
They, too want answers.
